The seventh of ten children, Ryan visited Charleston, South Carolina in 1996 where he developed an appreciation for Classical/neoclassical design. He then traveled to Rome, studied in Krakow, Poland and eventually graduated from University of Tennessee, School of Architecture and Design with a Bachelor of Architecture. Ryan returned to Charleston after graduation and spent several years working on additions, renovations and single-family homes. He attended Georgia Institute of Technology for his Master of Science, Classical Design. Upon graduation Ryan was invited to work on classical and traditional architecture in various parts of China. After four years of travel throughout China, Ryan returned to Nashville to set up a permanent home base. Ryan spends his free time with close friends or planning his next travel adventure. A chance meeting with Ray Booth in Nashville led to Ryan joining McALPINE.
